Accelerating the Adoption of a Circular Economy and a More Environmentally Responsible Way of Living
Building a better future through a circular economy
The best estimations from environmental experts indicate that, if we continue with the way we are currently polluting the environment, the damage we are doing will be permanent by the year 2030! At KhulaHoop we believe transitioning to a circular economy is the best way we have to reduce the negative environmental effects of our consumer driven society.
A circular economy gives rise to a closed loop system where resources are kept at its highest value state for as long as possible and when it reaches the end of its useful life, can be reused as a resource to create something else. This means that in a circular economy, like in nature, there is no such thing as “waste”. Adopting a circular economy is the best way humans can continue to sustainably produce and consume products, while not harming the environment.

Circular economy and the uN's Sustainable development goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a collection of 17 interlinked global goals, developed by the United Nations in 2015 and defined as “A blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all people and the world by 2030”.
Even though only SDG 12 directly addresses circular economy, it has a massive effect on most of the other goals. If a circular economy is adopted it would, either directly or indirectly, contribute to achieving 13 out of the 17 SDGs. This is a massive step in the right direction. Although the SDGs are not enforceable, chances are governments will see the long term value in working towards these goals. It is also highly likely countries that are fully committed to achieving the SDGs will make it a requirement for all trading partners to also work towards achieving them.
Here are the SDGs KhulaHoop is working towards:
